MICROSCOPE IDENTIFICATION

  • Polarizing Microscope (up to 1000x magnification) – Transmitted and Reflected
    light to Identify minerals based on the minerals optical properties such as: colour, habit/form, birefringence, relief, cleavage, twinning opacity etc
  • Stereozoom microscope (< 75x magnification) used for general grain counting.

X-RAY DIFFRACTION EQUIPMENT
